Volunteering time: 8am – 12pm. 

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Cannonball Crush event! Without you, this event wouldn’t be possible. The following is a general information sheet about the event and what your responsibilities will include.

What is Cannonball Crush?
Cannonball Crush is a 5K run through challenging obstacles. It is designed to test your strength, determination and team spirit. We have over 15 obstacles that include jumping, climbing, crawling, and sliding!

What time do I need to be at Fort Henry? 

Volunteers will need to sign in at the Discovery Centre by 8:00am for volunteer orientation. In the Discovery Centre, volunteers will be given an identification shirt and a bracelet for complimentary access to Fort Henry’s YGK Craft Beer Fest, the race After Party. Volunteers can park in the main parking lot next to the Discovery Centre. 

What do I need to bring? 

Volunteers are asked to bring weather appropriate clothing and closed toed shoes. A Fort Henry volunteer shirt will be provided the morning of the event in the Discovery Centre. 
Volunteers are encouraged to wear sunscreen, we will have sunscreen on site. Feel free to bring bottled water; Fort Henry will also have bottled water on site. 

*Note: You must be 15 or older to volunteer, with anyone under 18 having a parent co- sign for their participation. 

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:

Volunteers will be stationed at the various stations throughout Fort Henry and its grounds for this Event. The following is a brief overview of each task.

Parking Coordinators
Assist with safely directing vehicle traffic to appropriate parking locations. Traffic vest provided.

Traffic Marshals
Coordinating traffic so racers can safely cross Fort Henry Dr during their efforts to CRUSH the race. Traffic vest provided.

Registration Tables
Help racers with their waivers, sign in procedures and providing their race kit.

Water Station Attendants
Provide water to runners.

Obstacle Attendants
Ensure that all runners safely complete an obstacle.

Way Finders
Control the flow of traffic in congested areas, and ensure racers go the right direction.

Start/Finish Line
Ensure runners cross the timing mats and assist with any needs at the end of the race finish line.
