World Heritage Sunset Ceremonies
Every Wednesday evening
Beginning at 7:30 p.m
Sunset Ceremonies at Fort Henry are world famous. The Fort Henry Guard Drums, Drill Squad and Artillery Detachment present an hour and a half interpretive story of 1860's military music, precision drill and big-bang artillery maneuver, including a mock battle! The show ends with a spectacular fireworks finale!

Fort Henry: An Illustrated History is a handsomely illustrated glimpse into the past that shows how the fort was experienced by those who garrisoned and preserved it.
About the Author
Stephen D. Mecredy, a member of the Fort Henry Guard from 1974 to 1980 rose through the ranks to become Guard Captain. He was Curator and Historian of Fort Henry from 1982 until 1990 and Supervisor of Programs at the fort from 1990 until 1998. He now teaches Public School in Kingston.

Available now is the Kingston edition of Ontario Archaeology, entitled Field's of Fire: Fortified Works of Kingston's Harbour. This soft cover publication has been guest edited by Foundation Executive Director Sue Bazely with contributions from area archaeologists.
Local archaeologist Sue Bazely's achievements over the past 25 years serving Kingston through public archaeology were honoured at the 2007 Ontario Archaeological Society's Symposium, in Kingston earlier this month. Bazely, executive director of the Cataraqui Archaeological Research Foundation was the sole recipient of the 2007 Peggi Armstrong Award for Public Archaeology.

Robert Edward Livesey
Robert Livesey was born in Montreal, Quebec, in 1940, but grew up in Vancouver, B.C. and Winnipeg, Manitoba, before
attending Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, in Arts 62
He taught in Ontario secondary schools for 12 years before going to Sheridan College, where he was a professor of
communications in the School of Arts and Animation for 24 years until he retired in 1999.
He is the author of more than a dozen books, including textbooks that are approved and recommended by provincial
Ministries of Educations and trade books such as the Discovering Canada series, (which consists of eleven books as of
2009)
He is the president and CEO of the educational publishing company Little Brick Schoolhouse Inc. located in Oakville,
Ontario, and has produced several Canadian History videos with educational kits for use in schools. He was recently
involved with History Television to create a series of short videos, A Really Short History of Canada. His most recent
video is Canada's Black Roots; 1605-1812, produced in 2007.

on a career that has spanned international education, travel and public relations.
She is the author of Crown of Life:
The World of John McCrae, the biography
of the man who wrote the famous poem
"In Flanders Fields," and Redcoats and
River Pirates: Sam and Ellen's Adventure
at the Windmill, a novel for young readers
set on the banks of the St. Lawrence in
the 1830's.
Dianne is married to Canadian
military historian Donald E. Graves and
resides in the scenic Mississippi River
Valley of Upper Canada.

Jennifer Lanthier - Biography
Jennifer Lanthier is the author of the Hazel Frump Adventure books, published by HarperCollins and set in a fictionalized eastern Ontario. The first book in the series, The Mystery of the Martello Tower, was nominated for Saskatchewan's Snow Willow award and dubbed a "captivating, Nancy Drew-like mystery" by the New York Sun. Her second book, The Legend of the Lost Jewel, was named one of the Top Ten Fiction Books for Children in 2008, by the Ontario Library Association. A grant from the Canada Council for the Arts recently sent Jennifer to Ireland, to research the next book in the series: The Secret of the Standing Stones.
A former newspaper and wire service reporter specializing in biotechnology and medical issues, Jennifer also toiled for a brief, dark time, as a political speechwriter in the Office of the Premier of Ontario. She is a basketball fanatic, marathon runner, and mother of three, with deep family roots in Kingston. 1812 Overture Weekend
Friday July 17th and Saturday July 18th
Starting at 8:00 p.m.
The Kingston Symphony and the world renowned Fort Henry Guard take part in live performances of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture with 1860's cannon firing accenting the musical strains of the Symphony Orchestra. The show includes a fireworks finale in conjunction with the end of the performance. Tickets available through the Grand Theatre Box office at 613-530-2050.
Fort Henry Tattoo
Saturday July 25th
Starting at 7:30 p.m.
The Tattoo is one of Fort Henry's premier events and showcases the drill and musical skills of the Fort Henry Guard combined with drill and musical skills from international acts. The special celebratory evening includes a fly past of the Canadian Air Force and a dazzling fireworks finale. This years Tattoo celebrates the Centennial of Flight in Canada.
