Ante Room

Officer's Anteroom This room was considered to be part of the officers' mess, and was an area where the officers could go when off duty to relax with such activities as chess, dominoes or playing the piano. In addition, guests of the officers were entertained in this room, including their wives and fiancees.

The photograph on the left wall is a composite photograph of the officers and senior non commissioned officers of the Royal Canadian Rifle Regiment. It was composed by taking individual photographs of each individual and pasting them to a painted background. As well as a higher marriage rate, this regiment was allowed a higher rate of pay than was usual.
