You enter the reverse fire chambers after passing through a tunnel leading under the dry ditch to a series of rooms that are in the western outside face of the ditch, 20 feet underground. The first three rooms are casemates from which infantry could fire along the length of the north ditch, creating a crossfire in the dry ditch.
